First thoughts

I have just created this blog, but I'm not bursting to say anything at the moment. It is a Saturday afternoon and it's pretty hot. I have done a number of chores, but I have a couple of more that I should get to.

I will introduce something that I will talk about more in the near future: a very interesting book I am reading, The End of Poverty, by Jeffery D. Sachs. His basic point is that it is possible to eliminate extreme poverty in the world in this generation. More to come...
